This day trip offers an excellent opportunity to encounter a wide variety of wildlife, including giraffes, zebras, buffaloes, warthogs, waterbucks, bushbucks, and various antelope species. The park is also famous for its healthy populations of black-and-white colobus monkeys, blue monkeys, and vervet monkeys.

Bird enthusiasts will be delighted by the park’s rich birdlife, with over 400 recorded species, including flamingos, African fish eagles, kingfishers, herons, and numerous migratory birds that inhabit the Momella Lakes throughout the year.

Day- By- Day Activities

Day 1:
Arusha National Park

Your adventure begins with an early morning pickup from Moshi, followed by a scenic drive to Arusha National Park. The journey takes approximately 1.5 to 2 hours and offers beautiful views of the Tanzanian countryside, local villages, and Mount Meru.

Upon arrival at the park, your guided safari begins as you explore the park's diverse landscapes and wildlife-rich habitats. Unlike many other parks in Tanzania, Arusha National Park offers a unique blend of forests, lakes, wetlands, and open savannahs within a relatively compact area.

One of the highlights of your safari is a visit to the impressive Ngurdoto Crater, often referred to as the "Little Ngorongoro" due to its stunning appearance and abundant wildlife. From the viewing points, you can admire the crater floor and spot buffaloes, warthogs, and other animals grazing below.

Continue your exploration to the famous Momella Lakes, a series of shallow alkaline lakes known for their striking colors and seasonal flamingo populations. The lakes attract a variety of wildlife and offer excellent opportunities for photography and birdwatching.

Throughout the game drive, keep an eye out for giraffes, zebras, bushbucks, waterbucks, colobus monkeys, and many other species that call the park home.

For those seeking an additional adventure, an optional canoeing safari on the Momella Lakes provides a unique perspective of the park and its wildlife.

After a rewarding day of wildlife viewing and scenic exploration, you will return to Moshi in the late afternoon.
